I have noticed that most of us use avatar cartoons rather than real photographs of ourselves. What is your input?

My input- My cartoon image will always look good. I don't even need to do the "angles."

Real photographs lead to trouble online. This is supposed to be an anonymous site. I don't want to know if my mother is answering questions about sex on here. No matter how old I get. And assuming she would know what an avatar is.
