Well, you get drunk a little faster, but other than that, it doesn't have as much of an effect on a pregnant woman as it does for the baby she carries.

Drinking alcohol has been connected to low birth weight, birth defects, mental retardation, SIDS, and many other "abnormalities", not to mention death. But it doesn't mean a pregnant woman can not consume a single drop of alcohol. My doctor said a glass of wine a month was fine. I think during my pregnancy I drank two glasses of wine and 1 beer, and my daughter was born 8 lbs, 8 oz 6 days before her due date.

Hope this helps!!

Alcohol passes to the baby in the blood stream, through the placenta, in the same way other things do. It can cause a severe birth defect called Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS).

This can cause both mental and physical birth defects in the child. These include -- epilepsy, lack of motor control, lack of coordination, low birth weight, facial abnormalities (smaller eyes, flattened cheekbones, etc.), ADD & ADHD, slow development, organ dysfunction, impulsiveness, etc.

It doesn't have a very big effect on the mother, but it has huge effect on the baby. Even a small amount can effect the baby very, very strongly.

Probably about the same as it does when you are not pregnant except it may make you more naseated. However, the alcohol can pass along to the unborn fetus making them feel the same as you probably more. But it is okay to have one drink maybe two every now and then, but not more.

No honey, it will not. The only thing that will effect your baby through the sperm is any STD he might get if he "fools around " with other others who may have it. I am an LPN & the alchol will not travel in the sperm to the baby---if that is the case there are a LOT of babies in trouble as there has been a lot of them made DUE TO ALCHOL

The same as it would if you weren't pregnant. But good luck raising a child that you cause that much damage too because at that point you have no one to blame but yourself.

Alcohol can cross the placental barrier and cause birth defects in the child.
