Some computers now have plug and play. For instance, if you hook up the printer to the computer using a USB plug some computers read it automatically.
If this is not on your computer, you can go to Control Panel, Printers, Install New Printer and follow the easy steps. You may need a IP address from the printer. To get this press the paper feed button on your printer two times. A configuration page will then print out. It has the IP address on there. Then enter the IP address when following the installation steps.
Make sure the printer is connected to the computer when doing all this so it can find the printer. Just follow the install steps.
If this doesn't work out, go to the HP website and see if you can install it using the web.
