How much would it cost. I want to get 8 gigs of ram and maybe an hd tv card that would work with media center

8 gigs of ram is a little much for most home computers and unless you are running the 64 bit version of vista the operating system can only use 4 GB of ram
That said 4 sticks of 2GB memory would cost approx. $850-$950
As for the tv card Hauppage and ATI have the best but you might want to wait a bit if you have cable ATI is ready to launch a Open cable capable card sometime this yr.
Another word of caution read up on Vista it has very tough restrictions on digitally protected content as far as using a computer for a dvr etc or ripping DVD's

8 gb?!!! that will cost you over $1000! willing that ur gonna pay that much. trust me, 2 gb is MORE than enough. ALWAYS chose ATI for tv cards, including Vista cards.
ATI + vIsTA, its in the name!
