Me and this guy I know sort whom works at a store I frequent who are friends told me not to stress and that, he'll take care of me and if anyone messes with me at the store..tell him and he would take care of them for me....Do you think this was customer service at it's best or something more?

something more...it does sound like he's hittin' on you...or maybe he's just showing off...to get what he might want, not caring about what you might want as friends...my guess is, he might want more...

It doesn't sound as if he'd tell that to a guy or another girl. If the guy was a security dude then that's different-he was just saying that if something happens then to let him know.
If the guy IS NOT a security dude then YES, it IS something more.
