It's hard to say if it's normal. Can she talk to her mom or another adult about the cramps and heavy bleeding? She should see a Doctor that could help her. I suffered with bad cramps, and so did my daughter, and the Doctor helped us.

Neither. Everyone's bodies are different. Every month is different too. Next month you might have heavy bleeding and more cramping. You are very young and you have many more years of this. Right now, all you can do is take Motrin or Tylenol and use a heating pad. Have your mom speak to your doctor about it. There might be something else they can do to help if the pain and bleeding gets too severe.

In order for a girl to start having her period, she has to reach a certain body fat percentage. If your friend is a little heavy, that is probably why she started her period a little early. Still, 10 years old is not THAT young.. The average age is 12. As far as the differences betweer her period and yours.. you just got lucky, every woman's is different. And when you're young your period is kinda funky anyway. It may be really heavy one month and then very light or nothing the next. It's normal.

Everyone is different when it comes to a period. Before I got on birth control I had out of this world cramps and heavy bleeding, but now I hardly have cramps and have very light bleeding. But like I said everyone is different and it doesn't have to do with how old you are, your height, weight..etc.

Every girl's period isn't the same. I started in the 5th grade and that's perfectly normal. Also, I've always had really bad cramps and heavy bleeding and my friends are totally opposite from me.

Every woman is different. My friend got her period when she was only 9. She is in her mid thirties now and gets killer cramps. She was fat and lost weight so she is almost skinny now and yet is still getting her crazy cramps. Some women I know lost a lot of the cramps after getting married to men.

It does not have to do with either one. Every woman is different, heavy bleeding and cramping is fairly common place. Birth control pills can help with both but considering her young age her doctor may not want to try that until she is older. For cramps tell her to use Ibuprofen and heat pads, warm baths.

i think every girl has a different internal clock. some might have it at 10 some at 13. and like many things in the world, it is different for every girl. some might get cramps while some wont even feel a thing! i remember my cousin, when she first got it, she was on the bed for days bcause of the pain. after that, it was all normal. i dont think it is abnormal.
