I've heard that it's 72 but I'm wondering what the real answer is.

I really don't know. I hear people ask this question a lot but it hasn't been answered.

75 if you are a Christian, but 73 if you are Jewish. Muslims' answer is 55, pagans' lives equal out to 39, and for atheists, the answer is either 1 or 100, depending on what kind you are. The answer to life for Buddhists is 23, and for everyone else, the answer is 72. If you buy this foolish simplicity, then you are living with the right attitude. Trying to determine life's answers is negating the beauty of problem solving through living.

Actually it's 42, somebody is dyscalculic if they gave you that answer. (dyscalculic is dyslexia with numbers) You're getting lamebrained answers because it's one of those questions which can also be answered by the questioner. But I'll give you a nudge. I have run across this definition of the meaning of life often enough to pay attention: To love, to learn, and to learn to love. To go further than that would be unethical, if that makes any sense. Continue to wonder. It's a healthy mindstyle.
(On an irrelevant note, you're getting the "The answer to life is 42" from a book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams. It's a cool book, first in a delightfully wacky series. Check it out.)

God wanted followers.
He made too many.
Some of which are bad and some are good
God created Life to filter those who are good from bad
Thats why the good go with him and his brother(satin) gets the leftovers.
Thats why people say that he is always watching
Cause if he falls asleep then he wont kno if you did anything bad
Thus having to start over.
He has already fell asleep once and flooded the earth to start over
Prophicy states that satin will get jealous of his brother and will come to earth
Thus explaining the legend of Armagedon

The answer to life is TO LIVE. And live at your best. The way god wantedyou t live cause he gave you life with a purpose.
And its not 72 you heard wrong.

thats kool.....
but listen i cant understand why people always have answers infront of them but dont want to beleave it. Like questions what is life its common sense life is "LIFE" thats it thats it nothing else you alive live it do what ever you want to its life the way you were given life, it is only fair if you give create life (have kids) and then die lol thats it nothing else ladies and gentlemen. What is life i gotta a question for you what makes you ask that question ??????

What is the answer to life? breathing, walking, enjoying, learning to cope, learning to get along, explaining certain things to others, helping them to understand. It's a bunch of people with beating hearts, tearing eyes, love, understanding. Living without getting killed by something, or someone. learning how to survive. I don't know if I answered this right, but it's my thought.
