because they are disconnected from their emotions and even reality. So far to the point that when they are hooked up to a machine for studies, they get excited and their heart starts racing at the idea of hurting others. That is the only thing that gets to them. Just before they strike their heartbeat slows to very calm like a cobra.

In a way, the lack of vocal inflection is a way of hiding their true motives. A lot can be detected through pitch and rate of voice, so these individuals try to mask that.

You'll also notice the blank, cold stare of these types, as if they are looking right through you. Creepy stuff.
