My husband and I just started watching it and we like it. How long has the show been on? Who is the current DR. the tall thin guy or the shorter more Hollywood looking guy? Which one do you like?

It's been running for over 40 years, off and on. It is the longest running sci-fi show. It began in 1963 and ran until the late 80s. there was also a movie in the 90s. When the series started up once more, Christopher Eccleston (the Doctor in the black leather jacket; played in "Elizabeth" and "28 Days Later") took on the role of The Doctor for only one series. David Tennant is the current Doctor, series 3 will be his second series as the Doctor.

Dr. Who has been on for years really. In the newer version though, Christopher Eccleston played Dr. Who (the tall thin guy) and David Tennant is playing the current Dr. Who.

Its been on since like the seventies....my stepdad started watching it back then....and a friend of my moms did to...proves their old!!
the shorter more Hollywood looking guy is David Tennant....the current dr.

I forgot his last name and i cant stand him for some reason....hes david tennants predecessor

if you are talking about who I think you are, the tall thin Dr. is David Tennant. you can also see him in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Barty Crouch Jr.
