There are several ways to remember information.
Reading it aloud uses 2 senses instead of just one so doubles the input - seeing & hearing helps.
Writing it in your own words makes you think about it more so you are more likely to remember.
Of course repetition is important - the more you see, hear & write it the sooner you'll remember it.
Then there's a fun way. Link it in your mind to something else to help you remember. Lists can be put into songs or verses. Try making words from the first letters of words or phrases in a list - like in first aid RICE is rest, ice, compression & elevation. You may also imagine pictures to link to what you're learning.
Everyone is different so some things work better for individuals than others - it's up to you.

everyone has different ways of remembering things. you need to know how you learn best so you can find ways of remembering things in the way that will most suit you. no two people are alike so you can ask the whole word what helps them remember information, but it doesn't mean that it will help you.

Write it a few times and say it as you're writing it.

Also, try to make it personal. Like say you have a grocery list and you're like ok I need to get milk, bread, porkchops, and honey. You won't remember all those things. Make up a story, and visualize it. Like, you walk into your house and you see milk spilt on the floor, honey bubbling out of the microwave, bread flying out of the toaster, and porkchops floating in the sink.

It sounds weird but it toally works. We learned about it in psychology.

I take notes in class and then type them up at night when I get home. That way I get the information twice. They say it's better to re-write the notes though. If your professor allows it tape-recording also helps, then you can listen to it when you're driving or at night when you go to sleep.
