Personally, if I were blessed enough to be able to have another child, I would like it to be when my firstborn is at least 2.5 or 3. That way the older child could go to headstart in the morning, I could take care of the baby during that time, making it easier to handle and they wouldn't be so far apart they couldn't play with each other. But that's just a personal opinion.

Its really up to you. I have a 5 yr old and a 1yr old and we are TTC#3. I am already in baby mode so I figure I may as well just be done with it. Yes, I will have 2 in diapers but the 1 yr old wont be for that much longer after the next child arrives.

They say that waiting 18 months is the best physically for the mother. Personally, I am waiting until the first is out of diapers - I don't want the hassle of changing two.

Truly its up to you and when you think you are ready. Having two in diapers isn't that bad but it does get aggravating. My oldest is three and the other is 7 months.I wanted them together that way they will be close and will play together.

I would say when the first is out of diapers (much easier on mom) and out of all the baby stuff you are going to need........like the crib, playpen, etc.
