Sucrose is the common "Sugar"(added to coffee/Tea etc) contains one molecule of Glucose and one molecule of Fructose.Dextrose is Glucose-because it is dextro-rotatory-thatis rotating the plane of "plane polarised" light to the right,it is called "Dextrose"--opposite of dextro rotatory is leavo-rotatory.There is a Fisher convention of "D"- and "L"-series of sugars. It has nothing to do with the Optical rotation of sugars. It is a long story to be learned in a class room.

They are both sugars, but Sucrose is the principal ingredient of both table (granulated) sugar and powdered sugar. Dextrose is another name for the biologically active isomer of glucose.
