CDL is something you have to train for to become a truck driver

Well, theirs no such training as the real thing!!! First go and research CDL schools in your area, and trust me, dont pick the cheapest or shortest course. Anything less then 6 weeks is probably good to avoid. Go to your local Drivers Licensing Office and ask them about their books, their not to expensive but they could be cheaper, you'll want Trucks, Busses, and Airbrakes. If Your going for a CDL you might as well include busses (coaches). Their is a driven test so unless you know a Owner/Operator (also referd to as a Broker) who will teach you, you will have to take a course. A Good course in Ottawa, Ontario (where i am) is about 6 weeks and $5,000. but that includes all textbooks, and driving lessons (learning to backup is not easy, make sure you get as much practice as you can). The only website you'll need is www.ontruck.org. It is for ontario but may have links to your province. Good Luck!!
