I know that the Police use luminol spray and other things like that, but those are expensive and harmful to children. What can I use for a Science Fair that is cheap and easy to use?

Fingerprint dust is what was commonly used before luminol was developed. It can be easily found on the internet. Some magic shops may have it too.

But jst about any powder would work - fingerprint dust is best because it is black, so you can see the contrast.

use powder such as flour and tape. put flour on a object that has been touched then a fingerprint will apear. Put tape on the fingerprint and you got the fingerprint on the piece of tape
