Ferrets are very playful if your willing to take on the responsibility of one or two. Ferrets are very social animals and if you do not play with them every day, they tend to be mean and bite alot. I'm not trying to convince you from not getting a ferret, I have 2 myself and they are awesome pets. Alot of people just dont realize how high-maintenance ferrets are.

Hamsters and Gerbils are ok pets. To me, they tend to be boring and mean. They will play with other hamsters or gerbils but dont tend to be playful with the owner.

Chinchillas are ok pets as well. They, like ferrets, are high-maintenance pets. The difference is ferrets can handle temperature changes. Chinchillas can't very well and alot of times die due to it. They are alot like rabbits though when it comes to playing and nature.

Frogs do not make good pets. Most of them are nocturnal, which means unless you stay awake at night you will probably never see them.

Birds are pretty good pets if you can handle the mess and noise that they make. A well trained and handled bird is the best pet that you can have. Trained well enough, birds will play games with you, sing songs to you, and even dance for you.

Miniature horse or other type of small pony. They tend to have lots of personality, talent, attitude and playfulness, not to mention how brilliant they are.

I've also had a ferret before and they are pretty playful too! She used to run around and hunch her back up and just about cut back flips! She was smart too, sometimes we would let her loose in the house (and outside but make sure you feel confident that you will be able to find her or that she will come to you) and she would come when we called her. She was pretty cool pet.

Ferrets are playful, but they are sneaky bastards also. Mine once drug a fullsize bag of cheetos under the couch and I didn't notice they were gone until I moved the couch--I'd forgotten I'd bought them. They smell too so if you're not into stinky animals, ferrets aren't the way to go.

Oscar fish can be playful--my best friend and I taught his how to do tricks for his food.

Parakeets/cockatiels are playful as well, but again, they can be messy and loud.

Id say a rabbit! I have a rabbit and she is very playful and loving but to get ANY animal remember that you need to show it affection. With a rabbit especially you need to take it out of the cage all the time and by doing that your spending quality time with it and then the rabbit becomes used to its surroundings and you! Hope i helped im sure you'll make a great dicision on the animal you pick!!!

Ferrets is a definite, they love to play and it's great to watch multiple ferrets romp around with toys. Very entertaining!

Also, rats...they make really good pets and can be playful. I've had rats play tag with my hand and other quirky little things.

Ferrets are extreemly playful and smart. They are very much like a dog or cat but because of their curiosity they will get into everything, you'll have to watch them, but they are loads of fun.

Ferrets are very playful but very stinky and they like to hide things such as keys.... Another animal that can be good and stay outside is a rabbit. They can also be litter trained but with much patience and commitment on your part.

A holland lop (rabbit). I've had mine (Buster) for about 3 years now. I would suggest a male over a female, the females can be kind of snippy. Buster plays, snuggles, and is litter trained. He's really a great pet. We just got a Boxer puppy and they are already friends. Good luck with your search!

When my daughter was little - she used to put her little gerbil in a ball and let him run around all over the house! It drove our cat crazy because she couldn't "mouse" it!
We loved watching her in her little cage, too. Very active and playful!
