An IQ test compares you with other people your age on a variety of mental tests - usually verbal ones and non-verbals. Most tests use an average "standard score" of 100 with "standard deviations" of 15. This means that a "great score" would be 130 or above. This is two standard deviations above the mean and is at or above 99% of scores. Psychologists in schools and clinical settings (hospitals, private practice) are the most commonly qualified people to give these tests. There are many on-line tests, although these may not be as statistically valid.

An IQ test compares your chronological age (years old) with your mental age (the age your abilities compare to). The average score is around 100. Most gifted programs require at least a 130 and genius is somewhere above 150-160. Special Education is usually below 70 (with other issues). There are some fun ones online, but a Psychologist should administer a formal one.

I.Q. or Intelligence Quotient is a test to determine a persons ability to reason out certain problems that are presented. There are different kinds of I.Q. tests because there are differing questions. A standard I.Q. test is one whose questions are accepted by most colleges and institutions. Most of the population ranges between 95 and 105 points. The tests are also geared to a persons age by manipulated the final score to match the standard experience level of the particular age group. Most Colleges have career testing available for a reasonable fee and usually includes a standard I.Q. test. Many colleges do not charge if you are a student at their institution. If you reach 130 points you will be eligible to join M.E.N.S.A. which is a national think-tank of geniuses.

Search the web for one. I've done it before, but don't remember what the site was~sorry.
The one I took was fairly simple...and had a 45 minute time limit. I remember I got a 132 but can't recall the highest possible score.
Good Luck!!

any score over 100 is above average. 130 is gifted and anything 140 or above is considered genius. try contacting a local community college, university or career counseling center.

I've found in over 50 years of experience that I.Q. doesn't really mean anything. I've come across people with supposedly hi I.Q.'s who amazed me that they survived into adulthood, and others with average I.Q.'s who have surpassed expectations. Personally, I find I.Q. tests arbitrary (who knows what they're really measuring) and generally used by people to bolster their egos and try to make themselves feel superior to everyone else
