I for one dont follow the laws because they exist, I follow them because I dont like the consequences of NOT following them.
For example, I do speed when I believe I have a low chance of getting caught (& when I have somewhere to go in a hurry) I dont mind paying the ticket when I get caught...
for me the benefit outweighs the consequences so I do it and will probably continue to do so until the consequences are greater...
Ask yourself the same question for the illegal activity that you are committing and see if it is worth it.

I don't think anyone should disobey the law. If they don't like the law, then take political action to CHANGE the law.
