I'd probably write the essay focusing on and based on the fact that it really happened. There are a few (fortunately, very few) jerks around who are trying to convince others that it didn't happen. I'd include information on the holocaust memorial in Washington D.C. and information from survivors and anti-defamation groups to prove the reality of the holocaust. I'd also interview psychologists and psychiatrists to see if there is some mental health disorder that people [who don't believe it happened] suffer from.

I've read about it alot, it's something that deeply interests me...write about the gas chambers, the books that have since been written, a tiny bit about Anna Frnak, not much, or it will look like your focusing too much attention on her. Write about when the Nazi's stormed every Jew filled town, there are SO many things to write about...♥

I would read Night by Elie Wiesel, because it talks about his experiences in the concentration camps. It places you first hand to see how horrible and inhumane the people were treated. This would help you in writing an essay, and you could use textual evidence too. Good luck!

Most interesting to me (and most horrifying) is how many M.D.'s participated in this whole thing, and the terrible medical experiments on the inmates. What did this mean for the "mind-set" of medical people? Is this objectification of humans part of their makeup?

I love Oskar Schindler's life story, and it would be fun to study about him, and his motivations.

Another terrible chapter in the story that is rarely shown is the French government's roundup and deportation of Jews and Jewish children---the psychology of the French police who did this for the Nazis is a mystery to us, but we need to know how and if this could happen again.

I'd write about the Catholic Church and how it ran an underground railway to help Jews escape from Germany. I'm not Catholic, but I heard from a Methodist minister once that this was the case, and I'd like to know more about it.

Write about what led to it, what happened to people in the camps, and the aftermath. Mainly write about the victims. Make it sappy with a lot of facts.

There was a guy named Raoul Wallenberg who was a swedish diplomat who is credited with saving thousands of hungarian jews from death. He was a very interesting and brave individual yet most people have never heard of him.
