I usually cry when I hear about a tragedy. It doesn't help that I'm a nurse. I'm usually crying with my patients.

Get upset. I like to have faith that the average person will make the right decision, but I've been disappointed many times. It's one thing for a tragedy to occur by a tragedy of nature, it's ten times worse when that tragedy is committed by man.

Yes I do. I don't cry, well sometimes. Tend not to, just get very upset, especially if it is something we as human beings are letting happen or can prevent. I get more upset over the killing of people in Darfur where it is man on man and doesn't need to be happening vs. like a huge earthquake. I still feel bad for the people, more empathetic, but completly sick to my ******* stomach when I see human on human crime and stuff.

Not so much as I'd think. I remember when Kennedy died. I was 5, and even then I was horribly upset.
Now I become sad, but couldn't say it's "upset". I don't know why. Maybe I'm inured by SO much to be upset about in the world.

Yeah, it's hard. In fact it makes me want to not watch or read the news but I guess we can't run from tragedy can we?

Sometimes the volume of it, the commonality of tragedy, is so great that I begin to feel inured to it, even jaded.
But inevitably, something comes along that rouses me to sorrow, or sometimes anger.

I usually spare a thought for the victims but it doesn't really affect my day too much. Although, I often cry when I see stories about the starving children in Africa... that really gets to me.

No i dont get upset, but i shake my head in pitty for the untypically mentally deprieved/deminished low-life scum that think ever resorting to Murdering someone is a proper, smarter and/or rational choice.
