Beverly is next to it then there is Ipswich, Essex, Salem, and if you like the beach the nicest areas are on Cape Ann like Gloucester and Manchester by the sea.....just a heads up you will pay alot to live there.....rent for a family of five is going to be in the area of 1800-2200 a month and houses will run you over 300,000 easy. Many people suggest living in New Hampshire and I would never do that....because of the lack of sales tax, you make that up in property tax which is very high and the school systems are affected also you would still have to pay Massachusetts income tax. Plus the commute will be a bummer. I would go to realtor.com and do a search on Danvers and nearby areas to see where you want to live. You can also go a little North and try the Topsfield area and not have a very long commute and less congestion and if you do not mind a 30 minute commute there is always Amesbury and Salisbury beach, very nice communities, smaller and much more affordable. Out of the major highways (93, 495, 128, 95) 95 is probably the best for commuting and all of the towns I mentioned are in the 95 area. Too bad you weren't relocating to the South Shore my preferred area.

Danvers is close to the North Shore area of MA. I would say you could look at homes in Peabody, which has a good school system, and is close to Danvers as far as commuting.

Danvers is actually a nice and well-run town with good schools. So I would look right in Danvers actually. Manchester (MA not NH - and technically the name is changed to Manchester-by-the-sea in an uber-pretentious effort to distinguish it from Manchester NH but I refuse to recognize it as such) is also a good town, and Beverly, Swampscott and Peabody are all good as well. Salem's schools probably aren't as good. Definitely avoid Lynn, Saugus and Revere to the south as far as school systems.

Danvers is fine, as are surrounding towns. But if your work is near Rte 95 you might also wish to check New Hampshire border towns, considerably cheaper houses, good schools, and not a difficult commute.
