I call her job "easy"...cook, eat, and talk to people about cooking and eating.

She's a cook first and foremost. She's said she has no formal training, but she's worked in and out of kitchens and gourmet catering businesses forever so she does know her way around a kitchen. She's got a great personality for TV so her shows (30 Minute Meals and $40 a Day) have become way popular. Sadly though, I think she's about to hit the overkill point. Books, shows, and a talkshow are pushing the overexposure limit, people are starting to get tired of her.
I like her better than Giada though. Someone needs to make that woman eat a cookie or something.

She's 90% tv host, 10% chef. Most of her shows don't involve her cooking anything.

She says herself that she is not a chef, she's a regular person who loves to cook. It's because of her personality and love of food that she was able to get herself a cooking show, then because of her personality and popularity due to it, she was able to get her own talk show which touches on more than just food. So the bottom line is she's really really lucky, that's what she is.
