the iMac is really so easy to use a child can figure it out, it uses alot less power than a conventional pc, and now alot more companies are making products apple friendly it's an all round perfect machine

Problem is you are locked into that all-in-one scenario. The only thing you can upgrade is the RAM. So you are stuck with the display and other embeded components. I'd just get regular Power MAC or PC.

Really no reason anymore. It's just a PC with FreeBSD on it. Now if they were still using the powerpc cpus...different story.
Note: the powerpc cpus are now in xbox, ps3, etc. They are the most powerful cpu on the market.
