The genome has enough variables to assure that all living humans are unique, just like a set of ten colors is enough to make 100 two color marbles that are unique.
Identical twins are created after the parents DNA has merged into a new combination when the egg divides and produces 2 human beings with the same DNA.

Your DNA basically tells your body how to grow itself, mostly before you are born. Everyone's DNA is unique with the exception of identical twins since their DNA was replicated from a single cell. Even though there are differences, the sequence is over 99% the same for everyone of a given species. It is not perfect. There are errors made during the replication process in cell division and it can also be affected by other factors such as environmental.

let's just look at one feature, say height.

your two parents each have a pair of cards (their DNA) from a huge deck (genome), and the cards determine what their height is. your parents toss in (copies of) one each, randomly selected, of their cards onto the table. now these two cards are what determines how tall their kid (or kids if twins) will end up. repeat, repeat, repeat.

there are almost infinitely many different cards, and almost infinitely many traits (height, eye color, hair color, whatever).

then you have survival of the fittest. those that end up with a really bad pair of cards usually don't make it past a few days of age since conception, or end up dying prematurely of disease. cruel as it sounds, after soooo many generations of this happening, the surviving 6 billion of us have a relatively good pair of cards.
