I can't open browser pages within my programs.
for example, there is a link on Limewire to upgrade, that will not work
I cannot open links in messengers
I cannot open links on adaware se
I cannot open a popup when I click on banners within programs
I also cannot use the address bar in my system tray
how do I fix this?

You need to switch your security settings under,
Tools/Internet Options/Security. The way you have it set, it isn't allowing you to access those sites.

Click whatever it is you want to open and hold down ctrl at the same time. Or if you get a tab or box that pops up saying something like your pop up blocker is enabled, you can click on this and it will give you the option to open the blocked pop up.

I am really not sure. You could try calling your computer assistant...
