Oh baby girl- love yourself for who you are ......no matter what your physical shape looks like!!! True friends and people that love and care about you could care less if your body is not perfect....as a matter of fact nobodies body is perfect!!!!!! That does not change the fact of who you are....and I don't know you...but I can honestly tell you that you are a beautiful person just by what your concerned about!! God made you and you are more than perfect in a lot more eyes than what you realize!!! You take care of yourself!!! PS my daughter has scoliosis, and has 15 surgeries on her back-not the same as you-but she has a dis shaped figure and still worries from time to time about it until she got happily married over a year ago-and her husband thinks she is perfect! He even got her to wear a 2-piece swimsuit this summer-I was SOOOO proud!!!!!!

Hi There. My brother was born with this condition.
As a kid when we were growing up, it didn't affect him at all. In his early teen years, he was a little self- conscious about it, but soon it didn't matter, he found no one really cared.
With 4 daughters, I understand how bad this seems to you now. Unfortunately, many insurances won't cover this , because unless it is to a point that threatens general health or threatens life, it's considered cosmetic.
Just talk to your mom, don't be afraid to open up to the adults in your life who love you. Talking to your mom will at least let you unload your worries and concerns.
If you CAN get surgery, the recovery time isn't anything you should worry about.
It seems like everyone will tell you this, but it's because it's true, you're beautiful for many other reasons than what your figure seems like to yourself, and those who care now and in the future will always let you know that!

Check with the state you live in, a lot of them offer special grants to people who need medical help and surgerys. Since you are 14 a lot of childrens hospitals will help take care of the medical expenses. Look into that first and it will help you be able to present it to your mom. Give her some things to think about and some options. Some parents (like myself) don't have a lot of money so it is hard to discuss things like this with our children because we don't want to tell them we can't. Look into the children's miracle network. Local children's hospitals, and go to govgrants.com or contact your ocal health dept. to see if they can give you any info on children's hospitals. I hope the best for you.

If you do have the surgery just be sure you are not doing it because you are ashamed of your body. Never be ashamed of yourself. Maybe that is easy for someone else to say but God made us all and He will not put more on us than we can handle. God bless!
