V3i isn't really fast with the media (not Edge or 3G) but if I could have just one phone for looks and iTunes, it would be the V3i. It is one of the best looking phones, its ease of use is great, and while the i-Pod functions take awile to load up, why not get it if you can get it cheap.
Go with the V3i, a regular V3 is not necessarily pointless, but if you can get a Verizon, Sprint or Cingular highspeed phone, why not do that? The V3i is the only flip phone with iPod functions.
By the way, I take it this is either unlocked or Cingular due to the "i" part on the V3. That is why I mentioned the Edge and 3G.

I have a v3i, which serves me well. It is the refined, updated version of the v3.
