My son is allergic to milk and his birthday is coming up. I am looking for a bakery that can make him a cake with "NO MILK" IN IT. Can someone give my any reccomendations on bakeries or any "NO MILK" recepies that I can make him one from home in time for his party on the 27th? I would love for him to have a cake to smash and put his hands in.

I asked a similar question for my daughters first birthday party. I got this answer and actually made the cake, ommiting the cocoa powder. It was good, not something I would make for an adult but it worked for my daughter. The whole smashing the cake in face, etc. Make sure there is icing, because that's the most fun!

3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. cocoa powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup oil
2 tsp. vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
May also make a spice cake, add 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon allspice and 1/2 teaspoon cloves in place of cocoa.

bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Cool and frost.

try looking at a food coop or natural food store. Where I live there is a Kosher bakery that makes non dairy birthday cakes, so that is an option as well, I have a vegan cookbook and could give some recipes if you want, just email me.

Use a cake mix and if it calls for milk use soy milk. Chances are he won't even eat much anyway. You can also use soy to make the frosting which is what he will mostly eat. My son was lactose intollerant but he ate regular cake and was fine. Good luck!

Make a chiffon/foam cake, they use oil instead of milk and butter. They are very moist and good.

Try a kosher bakery they will have milk free cakes.

Or try any of these:
