I am a teacher and I have recently decided I want a career change. Pharmaceutical sales appeals to me. I am in the beginning steps of my journey, and am currently studying up. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? This is a long term goal, and dont expect to have a job overnight, but I would appreciate anyone who can offer suggestions on how to reach my goal.

My suggestion would be to try copier sales first. Many pharm sales reps first started out in copier sales. Having worked for Konica Minolta, I do know they give you formal sales training which you can apply in other sales positions. On top of that, copier sales can be quite lucrative. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Pharmaceutical sales positions are relatively stressful to land. even if i'm not interior the corporation, i'm a doctor that works with them particularly oftentimes. From what I understand, lots of the recruits look for a) a technology history (biology, chemistry), b) valuable previous sales positions; and c) a reliable resume and or an interior touch. considering you have relatively proved your self in sales - i could use that as your focal element. merely shop your eyes open and shop on with oftentimes - faster or later you would be observed.

This is one of the top paying sales jobs. You're not likely to get it until you prove yourself in other sales positions. So go get a job selling just about anything and hone the craft. Remember, you're not really selling a product, you're selling yourself. A good salesperson can sell anything.
