I got a rash in my vagina from i'm assuming a new soap and loofa that i stupidly used down there. A few days after that i came down with a UTI. Could the rash be from the uti instead if it started before the UTI? the rash now erupted into sores from the bacteria hitting it (so painful) is there anything safe to use down there for it to heal faster? neosporin? or a monistat itching cream? i am NOT sexually active so please no std things

first of all, i want to make sure you're seeing a doc about all this?

never use monistat unless you KNOW it's a yeast infection. anti-fungals (monistat) shouldn't be used unless necessary, but unfortunately, it happens all the time.

now is the rash on the inside, or the outside? it sounds like you could've irritated the area with the loofah, causing the rash. can you explain a bit more?

EDIT: ok girl, i just sent you a bunch of emails.. :p

I never heard or experience a UTI with a rash before. I would get it checked out because it could some sort of infection that off the counter medicine cannot fix. Next time skip the soap and loofa.

Oh, poor baby. You can safely use 0.05% to 1% hyrdocortisone on the outer areas IF it is not yeast...monistat would be for if you did end up having a yeast infection (not uncommon at all if you are on antibiotics) and that would be my best educated guess from your history and lack of sexual activity.

Bottom line, you need to have a doc or Nurse Practitioner take a look at you and diagnose it...BUT, using Monistat (not the anti itch, the Miconazole nitrate, would not .do any harm.
