I'm checking out the offers to work at home and some seem too real to believe. They ask for alittle money up front. Has anyone actually done this? I'm afraid to give my credit card. They also offer no phone number which makes me suspicious. Or any suggestions for me? I want to stay home for my kids but need money.

If they want money from you, it's a scam.

envelope stuffing is a total scam, think about it why would someone pay you money to do something that a computer does more efficiently. and a caveat, never do a job that requires you to pay for anything up front.

the best stay at home resource I have found was at www.workplacelikehome.com it is a message board / online community for people looking for legit jobs and they have an updated scam list to help you avoid fraud jobs. Go there and search the threads for jobs.

A few job links that I have personally worked for and loved were

1. www.800flowers.com which is a huge reputable company that allows you to work as an order processor from home. They only hire in certain states and pay is relatively low ($8 per hour) but its legit and reliable.

2. West Work at home whose website is www.workathomeagent.com I think but you can search for them if not. Here you are paid per minute of work time but it is a great supplement.

3. Live Ops whose website is www.liveops.com

These are the only ones I have experience with and other than doing phone sex (which pays if you have the stomach for it) they are the only ones I know of that are legit.

Best of luck and stay away from anywhere that requires money or wants you to act as thier payment processor anything like that, they are total scams preying on vunerable people.

The simplest work at home job is answering phone calls for companies like WorkathomeAgent, Alpine Access, Liveops. These companies do not ask for any money upfront. To apply you will have to complete an online application form on the companies website. A list of companies with websites is available at http://tinyurl.com/ze4lg

These are cons as are the type at home ads. It is misleading advertising. They charge you to go to clickbank and set up an account so you can place ads for surveys and other things that clickbank offers. So save your money, go to www.clickbank.com, generate hoplink codes, look up free ad spots and place ads. Send me $10.

People do make money taking surveys but you have to be selective and it’s not as easy as they make it sound. These are the most popular money making surveys.
