of course you can.... you should try creating a hum bucker... gives a unique sound... very different from a strat...

Sure, but it'll then be a crappy guitar with Gibson (or whatever) pickups. I tried this with an old Ibanez Roadstar 2 fender knockoff and some strat pickups. Really, I think it's probably better to just save money and get a better guitar.

Yes, it can be done, but it will have less impact on the sound than you might think.

Stripping a Gibson or Fender for pickups is not something you should do, and if you are thinking of Epiphone or Squier you will probably get the same pickups as what you already have... or something very close.

once you're speaking about the chrome covers that are on some Gibson Les Paul's, those are soldered to the fringe of the pickup's metallic body. I actual have by no skill seen with a purpose to anchor them securely when they have been bumped off. Plus you should make confident the covers actual will in high-quality condition the pickups that are on the guitar. interior the former days you should in simple terms unsolder the cover and take them off notwithstanding the pickups were initially designed with the cover on them. most of the more moderen designs were by no skill meant to have covers on them to commence with. in case you truly want a lined pickup you should probable want to change the pickups with an oem type which have the covers already affixed to them.

Yes, this is done all the time. You shouldn't have any problems with this.
