Orangutans are completely protected in their homeland - the islands of Indonesia. You will not be able to export one and no country will allow you to import one.

Zoos that keep orangutans usually have captive born animals not animals caught in the wild. In Indonesia there are rescue centres for orphaned and injured orangs that have the aim of releasing the animals back into the wild.
