OK, two days ago my computer started acting up. It won't let me do anything. Everytime I try to use a program a message pops up and says "(Program Name) has encountered a problem and needs to close" yadda yadda. I never send the error report. I cannot get on the Internet (I'm currently using my laptop). Nothing is working. I bought Norton Antivirus and installed it. The installation was fine, but the same error message pops up when I try to scan my computer. I also tried to do a System Restore, no luck. Then I tried to Format Local Disk (C:), same error. It also freezes up alot but only for a few minutes. I've run Spybot numerous times, it works but doesn't help. What can I do and what is wrong with my computer?

I'd say it's a virus. You'll have to delete everything on the hard drive and start all over. If you have the operating system disk, then restart the laptop (try to make sure it is on outlet power and not battery; this will take a while) and then put the disk in. Press a button when it asks you to. Then follow the instructions to install the OS. I've done this 3 times and I've always had a success. If you need more instructions, then you can e-mail me at motiur41@aim.com.

Good luck!

>Sounds like a bad case of "Win-tel". This is caused by inferior processors using an operating system with code written by a marketing department.
You either live with it or find a competent geek to clean it up...this won't cure the disease but it will help the pain.<

since you do not have internet acces with that pc its unlikely that its a virus. I think that the instalation of Windows(?!) got an error. just insert the windows cd in your pc, and select "repair" that should solve all problems windows can cause.

Tell your computer to get with my computer and we'll smash them with sledgehammers and then set them ablaze. Mine is perverted it constantly wants to go to adult sites though I've never tried to go to one.
