Well the full frontal nudity in the prison-shower rape scene, the graphic violence and the language earned it the R rating.

To be honest, it really depends on the maturity level of the 15 year old. The certain parts of the movie should be seen by just about everybody; I am not sure if the rape scene is vital to the viewing of the movie. It should be enogh knowing that it happens and why (Ed Norton's character has befriended a black prisoner and the Neo-Nazis rape him to teach a leason).

So it is up to you to decide if the 15 year old can handle the topics dealt with in the movie. Perhaps you should watch it first and fast foreward past the stuff you don't want the kids to see.

It's rated r because of its content and the graphic sceens but I think that it's okay for a 15 yr old to see I let my brother watch it at my house when it came out and he was 15 I think that it has good meaning and that if the person is smart enough to pick up on that then they should be able to see the film....I wouldn't let my 7 yr old see it but a 15 yr old will get the message!!

Although the language and violence is extreme, this WOULD be a good movie for a 15 year old AND a parent to watch TOGETHER. It would open up the subjects of the movie to hopefully productive conversation between teen and parent. 15 is the perfect age to reinforce your beliefs on racism, whatever they may be.

There is some sex at the beginning of the movie and a lot of disturbing violence throughout. I would not say that this is a suitable movie for a 15 year old.

Absolutely not. It is a great movie, but it is rated R for a reason. There is a part in the beginning that is extremely violent, and it would be hard for anyone to watch and not cringe. There are also racial slurs, and foul language throughout the movie.

Language and it shows whites killing black people. I think that it depends on the 15 year olds maturity level. If they aren't that mature then I don't think that they should watch it because they aren't mature enough to handle it and if they are mature enough I would say go ahead and let them watch it. My 12 year old brother watched it and loves it but I don't think that it was a good idea because when he bagan watching it he wasn't mature enough and now he wants all the different races gone and I think that he would have been better to wait until he was more mature and would therefore be able to handle it.

I guess it depends on how mature the 15 yr old is and what type of movies he's been exposed to. There is sex and some graphic violence. It's a really good movie though.

Monstrous racism at its most graphic. The story of the reformation of a racist while in prison and the resistence of his racist family to accept his new ideas. R for extreme graphic imagery.
