I have asked a few questions using Yahoo. That leads me to another question. Why is it that replies that certain people have, have that "protective barrier" that hey stand behind by not allowing room for discussion a.k.a. they don't allow IM's or e-mails. If they stand on a silver platter and think they they are 100% correct in their "opinion" 100% of the time, then they shouldn't even be reading this web site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree! It's really annoying not being able to communicate with someone about something they said. There have been a few times where i was interested in what else the person had to say, and maybe debate or at least discuss it with them, but was unable to do so because they don't allow e-mail or anything! A lot of answers to your question have people saying that others will stalk them, but I've also found that to be untrue! No one has ever IM-ed or e-mailed me through Yahoo Answers!

Sure, if you've got a point of opinion, then you should be able to listen to others. As the saying, "If you can dish it, you can take it".
However, some people may not like people emailing them or IM them as you can get some people can become abusive, obsesses, threatening etc. Why would you want to put up with that?

Some might be minors, other's might use the work computer(private email), and some might give stupid answers and not want to deal with bullshit of everyone emailing them! I don't know.......

People are entitled to do and say what they please on this site as long as they are within community guidelines. If they don't want to be harassed by other users, then that is their right.
