I need to know because i downloaded this software called "giggles" which takes over the function keys (like F1 F2 ETC) and i want to use it.

Depends I guess. Function keys have their purposes. Most commonly, F1 is for help files. Function keys are used more extensively in applications, just as office XP. Depending on how "giggles" is writen, functions are useful for the specific applications when running, but if you don't use them and just want "giggles" to take over the function keys. I think there should not be any problems.
