What are you talking about. Fish don't always die when hooked. In fact, most do not.

They don't die when they are hooked or caught. They die only because of careless people who are fishing. (These are not your typical fishermen/women) When a fish is caught, if you are not keeping the fish to eat, the fish should be released as quickly as possiable back into the water.
Sometimes a fish swallows the hook, and unfortunately there are those careless fisherpeople who rip the hook out instead of cutting their line and releasing the fish. Don't worry, The hooks rust out and do no damage to the fish.
It is sad people cannot be more respectful and knowledgable of the sport they are in.

if a fish is hooked, it will not die, because the tissues in the area of the hole from the hook will regenerate, then there will be a new skin.
the only reason why fish die, is when they are out of the water, because they cannot breathe.

Sometimes when they get hooked, they get VERY scared and this causes their heartrate to increase and they just... have a fish liek heartattack.. Or it could be caused from the fish being hooked in a senative area, like around the inside of the mouth, there are nerves ina fishes mouth which are QUITE sensative and cause it to blackout or even die

you probable hooked the fish deep down the throat, and injured it once you bumped off the hook. Water in a bucket would not comprise a lot oxygen, so it probable changed into helped to die from lack of oxygen. the blend of both and likely not uncomplicated dealing with at the same time as eliminating the hook were the reason behind lack of existence.

They don't die on the hook, they die when you reel them in out of the water.

They don't die when hooked, any more than you would die from having handcuffs put on your wrists.
