My excuse...my hubby left for 4 months right after Christmas, leaving me to take them down. I am 5 month preggers and I am not getting on a ladder when its 6 degrees outside and constant snow on the ground for the last month. That's my excuse...I have no idea what my neighbors is...

Guilty as charged!
However, in my own defense, I must state that the reason I leave them up for a little longer is....the nights in January are cold, dark and long, and I find that it brightens the night with twinkling, warm lights. A few little lights in the darkness is a very good thing.

Some people are in such a hurry to put up their decorations for the holidays, but are NOT as eager to take them down, either their lazy or want a step up on next christmas, so they can be the first in the neighborhood, to have them up.& going. (ha,ha)

Mosy everyone i know, takes their decorations down after the 1st of Jan. I think most of it is because their lazy, and don't want to mess with the lights un til it maybe warms up.

Some may have not done it because it is bad weather. Others are just too lazy to do it. I know some that keep them up all year--but they don't keep the lights on.

Either they don't want to bother to do it, or they don't want to let the spirit of christmas go....or the kids don't want it down just yet. Yeah, I heard about that too, the whole bad luck thing.

Maybe they like them up. Or maybe, they are waiting for a family member to come home to celebrate a late Christmas.

My son is in the navy, coming home next month.

They are just lazy idiots. I especially love the ones that still turn the lights on every night!
