How are you meant to know where you stand if you are not told? Is there some secret guy code us women don't know about? or is it that they aren't as in touch with their emotions as women?

Ok electronp, ask them and they usually avoid the issue they don't seem to like straight forward questions or giving straight forward answers. Whats up with that? I thought it was women who were complex! It's men i tell you they confuse us!

The wandering blade. Well personally i think, shopping, dinner, work, my son and how he is, house work, my other half and how he is etc,**x,sleep and so on. If I have someting to say I will just come out with it! I will answer as best i can and not aviod questions as men seem to. Is it they don't like to be left out there all on their own if they actually open up?

We don't go looking for issues just like to be in the know. This way we know that we are not reading our men all wrong. I like people to be straight with me!

Ok so i'm noticing the same trend with all men. Deflection either by not really answering or giving a comical answer, point proven? I think so.

Mike S I have some faith restored thankyou just as I was begining to give up. Is it that they do not realise or understand these thoughts and emotions or are they just as wary as women with regards to relationships?

male and female minds are pretty close in terms of thinking. we both have intuition, some (both male and female), have it tuned better and know it's inutition telling them something. so someone would know what how they stood by simply feeling it. i know i use it.
we are in touch with emotions, however just like some people are more sensitive to a flavor, guys can be dulled to different emotions. and while we can feel it, we might not be able to feel it as purely as you can. or know what it is that we are feeling due to it's subtly.
EDIT to answer:
i think it depends on the emotion. from my own experience, i can describe many levels of pain - anything from a stab wound to heart break. even sadness. but i don't have too many happy parts or love parts - so this area is still weak.
you live by example, and you yourself have to set an example to learn from. it's like trying the bakers chocolate for yourself - you have to taste it once to know that's it's not nearly as good as you thought it was going to be. in other words, you have to experience it first - and have it pointed out to you that you just experienced it.
and if we are talking about love - that's really hard to describe the feeling. either you get it or you don't. with some middle ground. it all depends how devoted he is, and what he want's - and more importantly, what he thinks love is (or whatever emotion your after.

Read Men are from Mars Women are from Venus. It bangs on a bit (well it is written by a bloke) but it does clarify a lot of things. The fact is men and women see the world differently. What to us is perfectly obvious and straight forward to them is inexplicably complicated and obscure and visa versa.

I think men can get as insecure as us women sometimes and change their minds just as much, I think the best thing to do if you really wanna know what their thinking is to ask them straight and state you’re not gonna be messed around, but sometimes I think they need longer to think about stuff(?)-but I agree men are confusing creatures that’s why women live longer we get to have a break from them at the end!!!

Men are very simple - or just as complicated as women:)
If you really want to know, read that book about the woman who lived as a man for a year and a half...

Believe it or not, us blokes have very linear, straight forward thinking.you women always read much more into everything, whereas we just look at life as it is.we simplify, women complicate.
i think i'm safe in stating that we also think about sex,money,beer,sports and sleep and/or doing very liitle ( not necessarily in that order!) an awful lot more than you girls.
We are life living examples of Occams Razor.
