I know you're thinking of Sister Golden Hair but "Romeo's Tune" by Steve Forbert has the line..."Meet me in the middle of the night, let me hear you say everything's all right...." Just fyi...

You know I never thought that but after looking at the lyrics for al ittle while it does almost fit that way. I always thought he was singing about some fantasy woman he was yet to meet but that could also be a new self to become. I used to sing this song to a friend of mine named (you guessed it) Virginia. She was about sixty at the time and she loved the song. Drops of Jupiter always struck me as a golden shower reference. Jupiter got some mortal woman preggers by transforming himself into a golden rain.

Diamond Rio...they did a song called meet me in the middle....it got them famous. The America song is from the 1970s, and the Diamond Rio song is from the early 1990s.
