My son is doing this conversion and installing a 350, it is not that uncommon.
He cut the Four wheel drive out. It is a tight fight and he had to buy custom headers that would fit ($300). Yes new radiator because of the inlet and depth, used the 350 trans so he had to have a drive shaft cut down to fit. The headers ended up very close to the fire wall and had to modify firewall to floor panel to allow custom made exhaust to be connected to the headers.

There is a lot that has to be changed. on the mechanical side, the bell housing on the transmission will not fit the V-8 engine so you would have to change the tranny (at least). The computer would have to be changed for the one for the V-8 and this would also require changing the wiring harness as the V-8 has components that the V-6 doesn't. the radiator would more than likely need to be swapped out for a larger unit to keep the larger engine cool. The front suspension would need to be upgraded as well because of the added weight of the V-8...after all this and probably more it would be a wise choice to rethink the whole thing unless you are really dedicated to get it done.... I always say Anything CAN be done...but some things should NOT be done. In short this swap is a lot of work, be prepared. :)

Do some research on this swap in an s10 pickup. Its the same frame/platform therefor follow the same guidelines. A small block chevy into an s10 is a very common swap and i think they even sell kits.

Motor mounts, transmission and rear end. If you had a 4.3 V6 you could use the same transmission and rear end. Also the radiator needs to be changed.

exhaust, radiator, drive shaft, coil springs, transmission, motor mounts, the fire wall may need modification depending on the replacement engine. lots of work, but not very difficult.

First clue-you ran out of gas. you've sucked contained in the trash on the bottom of the tank. you want to disconnect the gas line on the tank and on the gas filter out and blow air by it and be sure that's sparkling. in case you nonetheless have the mission you've to get rid of the tank and performance it wiped clean on the close by radiator save.
