Should you leave the toilet door wide open or close it after stinking the place out, bearing in mind there is no window in the bathroom & the extractor fan is not working (we do not have air freshener either)?
The kitchen faces the bathroom.

I'd go for an essential oil room spray. Natural. I'd rather have the methane smell than use chemical air freshener!
And get the extractor working. Got to be a good idea!!!
Oh yes - door shut, I'd say, and scented candle.

Keep the door shut and no more excuses about the fan not working... there are repair men & women to call for that so take care of it !!
Light a couple matches as you stink the place up and the smell will go away much quicker !!

Definitely close it.
However, you should do one or more of the following:
1. Fix the extractor fan
2. Get a spray air freshner
3. Light a fragrant candle after you dump
4. Move house
5. Evict the the complainers

Keep the door shut, and wear a mask every time you need to go to the toilet.

Hmm light a few matches may be. You could also leave the door open and open up the kitchen window get the air flowing through.

Get a candle. light it afterwards. a sented one workes real well.
