I would think that it's obvious that he doesnt trust her,or at least he believes for some reason that he had better check the reports to see if they are accurate or not.In other words it would appear that he is not taking her word for it.That,is the beginning of the end in a relationship,I would say yes,she should get a lawyer, especially if there are kids involved.just my humble opinion.

Sounds like one hell of a tangled web here. Sounds like no one likes the answers theyre getting and no one trusts no one so a professional , attorney or PI, was brought in by everyone to find out who exactly is cheating with who. Just like a bunch of little kids playing kids games here. Chances are these are nothing more than rumors started and keep going to hurt or cause problems in someones marriage. The best thing here would be to stop all the games before everyone ends up in a class action divorce case. Good luck

You dont have to be an attorney to figure this one out. You can retain a public counselor to settle civil matters. However, the lawyer may not have a legal leg to stand on. They can use the power of persecution to disuade the person(s) from malicious endeavors. In lay terms, the lawyer can pimp people to believe that if they dont stop lying and spreading rumors then he can file suit for punitive damages. However, this it is very hard to prove that said rumor started from said individual who knew it was total frabrication and spread for malicious reasons. So this whole situation is bs. If I were your husband, I would send this attorney a very stern letter infoming this attorney that if they continue to send hazing, and harassing letters to him that he will have no recourse but to notify the State Bar Association. In effect, a real cease and desist letter.

Honey, I'm no lawyer but this smacks of a jealous husband to me. It really does. No atty would touch something so silly as this. There is no legal action to be taken against rumor spreaders.

You have to prove damages in order to prove slander or libel (written or spoken lies that do proved harm). These damages must be proved in monetary loss or loss of social or professional stature. Having your hubby get upset over it doesn't interest a lawyer.

He may have hired a private det. or an atty to write letters to people he thought were messing with his wife but I bet that's as far as it went and I also would bet the phone call came from him.

Just a guess but it all sounds fishy to me.
