this is really just a math question. How many quaters in a whole?
There are four obiviously, if there was anyother amount, they wouldn't be able to call them quaters now would they? No!

4 - 15 minute quarters in a football game. Quarters of anything should be 4. Sometimes you will have overtime which is set up like an extra quarter, but it ends at the first score.

Four quarters. Its hard to believe there is only 1 hour of actual play but the game lasts 3 hours at least.

there are no quarters in football or soccer. the football match is divided into two period of 45 minutes each with 15 minutes of half time break in between.
