Yes! My boyfriend used to tell me it a billion times a day and it just got annoying after awhile. A man in his mid 20s should not be telling his girlfriend he loves her so frequently that she gets sick of hearing it. I'd rather he just come up and hug me or talk to me about something else. We got in an argument when I finally told him to tone it down a bit. When you're in a longterm relationship, you know the other person loves you. You don't need to have that fact that he loves you reconfirmed contstantly. Yes, you can tell them several times a day but you do not need to attempt to convince your partner that you love them by saying i love you with an annoying frequency.

It can get diluted when in every conversation you hear it.
Or how lucky he/she is to have found him/her.
After a while, it almost make one feel trapped, by that person.
The reason is, the obsession. If someone is SOOOOO in "LOVE" with another as to say it all the time, it denotes insecurity, and can be a problem down the road.
Note. In the beginning of that stage in a relationship, it is normal to over do it. But as the relationship progresses into its more routine state, then, once in the morning and occasionally at the end of phone calls, and before bed is enough.
Each relationship demands its own level of 'affection', and the giving thereof.
If you feel it is being washed-out in the relationship , show concern over the 'givers' motives.

Somewhat. He tells me many, many times a day. The problem is not that I don't believe him, it's that I would also like some more communication on his part along with the I Love You"s. The other problem is that he told me consantly that he loved me but it didn't stop him from having an affair that nearly ended our marriage.

No. We don't say it enough. I always end a call by saying love you, just in case thats the last time we ever speak. Then I never have to look back and think, I never said I love you...

No, it really can't be said enough --Unless-- there are not actions to match the words. Then the words are useless and get old fast.

I used to hear it alot (when he was living) but he said it in many ways and I wish I could hear it today.
So if your man is alive and you are hearing it don't be too picky about hearing it too much.
sigh.
It sure beats never hearing it again.
