I have been with my husband for over 10 years. We have lived apart for 5 of those years to do university/jobs. He is the only person I have ever kissed and been intimate with. Then I met someone who I had an affair with- this lasted about 1 year. I know I was stupid. I think I agreed to this because I wanted to see what it was like to be with someone else.

This other person started off as being nice but then gradually abused me phyiscally and mentally. He used his 'manhood' was a weapon. Sometimes he would force himself on me and then say 'thank you' and leave. That left me feeling really cheap.

I could not get away from him as we were assigned to the same project team and lived in the same place. I was happy when the project ended and I was away from him. However, since then I have not been able to be intimate with my hubby- I am not sure if this is due to guilt or because I am scared of getting hurt.

I really regret my affair and want to be with my hubby- what should I do?

your feeling guilt, and feeling bad about yourself. u need to forgive yourself for the affair, ask god to forgive u, and than focus on your husband, and life with him. these things do happen, sometimes when we become intimate with someone else, we feel due to the guilt involved, that we don't deserve to be happy, or be with anyone. well that's not true. just forgive yourself, u made a mistake, u learned by it, and won't be doing it again, so don't beat yourself up for this forever. get some spiritual therapy, and know god does forgive us, when we admit the wrong, and promise not to do it again.

I think that you are probably feeling guilty about the affair AND you are scared of getting hurt. I think you need to talk to your husband about this. If you sit him down and explain everything to him (including how horrible you feel), he might just decide to forgive you, and he can even help you work through your intimacy issues. If you really don't want to tell your husband, I'd suggest talking with a professional.

I think you got what was coming to you. After what you did, you should feel guilt. If you wanted to leave, you would have. Now you are making your husband suffer because you won't give him any. You are pretty sick
