Actually it is the degree that will help you in the career field. Other than giving you exposure to a topic the classes really won't help much in the real world. 95% of what you are going to learn will be on the job!

Most colleges have a Guidance Program with Adult Counselors!
Depending on your Major and Minor, speak with one of them First and then go and "Pick the Prof's Brain!" Most have a "Pet Track" that they would be more than glad to share with "An Interested Student!"
