I have taken 5 pregnancy tests and i have skipped two periods im having period symptoms but there also pregnancy symptoms such as sore boobs bloating...i have an appointment tuesday to go and get birth control from a clinic and they are doing a pap smear so i woundering if the that will tell me if i am or if i am not for sure not pregnant...please let me know

A pap test won't tell if you are pregnant. The doctor may be able to tell by looking at your cervix. However, the best way to know is by taking a blood pregnancy test. You should request this before starting any medication or birth control. If that comes make negative and you still don't get your period you will be diagnosed with anomennorea (not sure about spelling) it's basically a missed period. There are medications that will bring on your period. Good luck.

No I don't think pap smear can tell whether you are pregnant or not. When I was 5 weeks pregnant, my urine test came out negative. Since I've been having weird cramps, the dr did a pap smear and told me that everything seems fine and normal. Then we did the blood test and that's when I found out that i was pregnant.
I don't think a pap smear can tell you if you are pregnant at least during early pregnancy

A pap smear does nothing to tell whether or not you are pregnant. You need a pregnancy test to tell. It measures the amount of pregnancy hormone that is in your body. The doctor's test may be more accurate than the ones you get at the store. Also, they can check your cervix to see if it is indeed closed--a sign that you are pregnant. Tell your doctor what you told us.

no, pap smear does not test for pregnancy. you will need to get a blood test for accuracy. i would say though if you have taken 5 pregnancy test and they were all negative then you are not pregnant. the pap smear will tell them what else may be going on to interupt your periods.

well if you tell them you are pregnant first they will do a pregnancy test tnad that will tell you if you are or not. Otherwise an ultrasound will. Pap smear, No/ But when you go in tell them you think it is a possiblility you are pregnant so they can do a pregnancy test for you.

Tell the doctor when you go to the clinic and get a blood test first. If you are pregnant you definately don't want to be taking birth control pills! I believe as well that when the doctor does the pelvic exam he (or she) will most definately know if you are pregnant.

no a pap smear wont tell you have the doctor do i blood or urine test on you that will show that you are pregnant but a pap is to see if everything is alright with your vagina and everything else. pap smear are usually for seeing if you have cervical cancer, hpv.. anything like that but not to find out if you are pregnant

Pap smears are testing for other things. Chances are slim that you are pregnant. Most likely you are stressed out.

birth control is definately harmful to an unborn baby so they usually ALWAYS do a pregnancy test before they start you on it anyways....they will normally ask you if there is any chance that you are pregnant now...if you tell them you dont know they wll do one right then and there!

No a pap smear is not for pregnancy results. OMG! See your doctor at once. If you are pregnant I am not certain a pap smear is even safe!
