A lot of districts run before and after school programs in their schools. You would be qualified to be a supervisor, which is what a lot of people do after they get their certification but can't get a teaching job yet. They usually offer benefits. The only problem might be that if you are a supervisor, I don't know if they would let you take two days off. If not, you can always sub and get individual health insurance. I don't know what state you live in, but some districts in NY pay up to $125 a day for certified subs, so it is good money too. Good luck!

I would say work as a sub. That would give an insight into the classroom from the teacher's point of view. You will gain appreciation for what teacher's have to do on a daily basis and it will show during your collaboration, consultation, and cooperation with your future co-workers. I am counselor for a K-5 school in Memphis but I taught for 10 years before. This allows me to my past experience and my counseling skills to deal with students and parents. It also allows me to work and communicate better with the teachers.

Sylvan is always looking for teachers, but if I were you I'd find a counseling group in your area that would take you on, There is a group near me that works with LD and Difficult students using education and counseling during the time they are with the student, His hours are very flexible. It is also a possible future for you

Hi,
I started my own business while in school through BeautiControl, it's an excellent company. The products are absolutely wonderful and the parties are fun and relaxing. I love all the products, and they have a very large variety to choose from. Please check out their site, it says $179 to join, but this month there is a $179 rebate offer, so it's like joining for free. Amazing offer if your serious about building a business for yourself. When the site prompts you to find a consultant my number is 1029211, or email me at turbin_barbie@yahoo.com for more information.
Good Luck!
