Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools at the top, click Internet Options.

In the window that comes up click on the Advanced tab at the top, and check BOTH of the boxes that say "Disable Script Debugging", and also check the box that says "Display a Notification about every script error".

Now click OK, and close Internet Explorer and reopen it. Try the site you got the error on and it should give an error.

Runtime erros are not specific error, They are general errors can occur in any software but they should not if programs are properly coded. This error is the result of a faulty software instruction. A programmer while writing code may write instructions/code referring some invalid pointer/variable/data. In short this is a the malfunctioning of a software program we usually call it a serious bug or a crash in progarm. The solution to these sort of problems is analyse the software code written and check the exact scenario where it produces and then fix the errors in the code. But there is a possiblity that you change the scenario and it is not reproducable.
Anybody to fix this issue he needs a complete details, i.e. what software gives this error and how this error is reproduced. Also there could be many other reaons as well like faulty memory say a program is written properly but when it goes to read something from memory it fails resulting into this error. If error appears anytime on any software this is the case probably but if it comes on a certain program at a certain secnarion then it the progarmming error that I mentioned earlier.

There are a lot of answers to your question, maybe none of them right. A runtime error is usually because the program can't find a dynamic link library (a missing .dll file). Reinstalling the program might fix this, maybe the file got accidentally deleted. A little less common is a memory error (not enough memory to run the executable code, so it triggers a runtime error).

My advice is to reinstall the program again. If you're not running a program, but get this message while starting Windows, you most likely will have to reinstall Windows again, or see if it runs in safe mode. I believe you press F8 while Windows is starting up to enter safe mode.

Then you would have to troubleshoot by loading one Windows application at a time (the step-by-step option for safe mode). It might be worth it to spend a few dollars and have a professional do it.

Depends on the error.
Usually you can run debug, but I would suggest copying the error into a search engine, and looking for the solution, works best and sometimes winds up getting a very good KB article to read
